BarWarriors began with the stories we told over drinks—the wild nights, the dive bars near base, the kind of brotherhood that only forms when you’re young and think you’re invincible. We’re military veterans who spent years turning ordinary evenings into adventures worth remembering.

This site started as a collection of those memories: short stories, cocktail recipes, legendary watering holes where service members have gathered for generations. The Happy Viking became our mascot—representing the best version of those nights, before things got complicated. (The Gremlin Viking? That’s what happens when you ignore the “no tequila after midnight” rule.)

But stories have a way of demanding to be told completely. The laughter, yes—but also what comes after. We’re expanding to share deeper work: a novel about what we carry home from service, and what it takes to finally set it down.
