A Great Skinny Spicy Tequila Cocktail Recipe
This Skinny (Spicy) Tequila Cocktail is a compelling blend of citrus and spice, offering a refreshing and invigorating low-calorie tequila drink option. It’s only around 200 calories per serving and delivers a refreshing balance of flavors. If you don’t mind the calories, throw in 1 ounce of Cointreau to make it a pseudo-Margarita. And if you don’t like it spicy, ignore our jalapeño infused tequila recipe below. That said, adding the spicy tequila adds a subtle heat that complements the citrusy notes.
WARNING: after slicing jalapeño peppers, be sure to wash your hands many, many times before having too many tequilas and jumping in the sack with your significant other. We learned the hard way that the oil from a jalapeño pepper gets reactivated with water… as well as bodily fluids around sensitive anatomy. 🔥😂🤗
Skinny (Spicy) Tequila Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 oz jalapeño infused tequila (recipe below)
- 1 ½ oz orange juice
- 1 ½ oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz ounce fresh-squeezed lime juice (for lime, we go by the rule: 1 tbsp = ½ oz = ½ lime; we sometimes like a lot of lime, so we’ll use a whole lime; others prefer only a half of lime squeezed into the drink. Try it with half and add the second half if it suits you)
Steps
For the Skinny (Spicy) Tequila Cocktail
- Pour the orange, lime, pineapple, and jalapeño tequila into a shaker over ice.
- Shake well for 15 seconds.
- Strain the mixture into glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with lime and serve.
Tasty Modifications
Play with the serving sizes of the orange & pineapple juices. You can reduce or omit the pineapple juice if you prefer a more tart flavor. It’s really up to you.
Jalapeño Infused Tequila Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bottle of blanco tequila
- 2 jalapeños
Steps
For the jalapeño infused tequila you’ll need 1 bottle of blanco tequila and 2 jalapeños
- Slice up your jalapeños and place them in a large mason jar (you may have to use 2 mason jars depending on what size you have. Each 750ml liquor bottle is equivalent to 3 liquid cups).
- If you don’t like it too hot, don’t add the jalapeño seeds.
- Add in the tequila to the mason jar. Pour it all in. Set the empty bottle aside.
- Let it sit for a day or two, or more. The longer it sits, the hotter it gets.
- When you’re ready, strain the contents of the mason jar as you pour the tequila back into its original bottle.
- Go time.
