The key to this cocktail is bourbon (rye works too), with its smoky undertones, and a dash of maple syrup to bring out a fall-inspired sweetness. Adding a bit of sage might seem unusual, but it truly evokes the flavors of Thanksgiving. This refreshing cocktail is perfect for apple picking, hiking through fallen leaves, or boozing around the fire pit.
Do NOT put in apple cider vinegar (you've been warned)
Instructions
Muddle the sage and Maple Syrup into a glass.
Add the bourbon and apple cider.
Pour the mixture into an iced shaker.
Shake until frost covers your shaker.
Strain over an ice filled old-fashioned glass.
Garnish with a sprig of sage.
Enjoy
Notes
Friendly note: The OG recipe calls for adding Apple Cider Vinegar. DO NOT do this. Ew... But if you're a sadist, and you truly must be authentic, then the traditional recipe calls for 1/4 oz of ACV to be added into the mix. Cringe
